October 29, 2026: Australian batting star David Warner is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on November 1 to join Kathmandu Gorkhas for the remainder of Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 3.
Warner, who signed with the Kathmandu franchise in September, is expected to be available for the team's match against Karnali Yaks on November 2. He will miss the Gorkhas' opening fixture against Janakpur Bolts on October 29.
In a video message shared by Kathmandu Gorkhas, Warner expressed his excitement about visiting Nepal and meeting the fans. He also said he hoped the tournament would bring joy to people before signing off with the popular Nepali cheer, “Ayo Gorkhali!”
The franchise has already announced the winners of a special fan meet-and-greet opportunity with the Australian star, adding to the excitement surrounding his arrival.
Warner's inclusion is one of the notable overseas signings of NPL 2026. The experienced left-handed batter is expected to strengthen Kathmandu's top order as the team looks to make an impact in the tournament, which runs until November 21.
His arrival will also bring additional international attention to the Nepal Premier League and its growing fan base.
