KIRTIPUR, November 1, 2026: Janakpur Bolts posted 147/7 in their allotted 20 overs, setting Pokhara Avengers a target of 148 in the ninth match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026 at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday.
Pokhara captain Kushal Bhurtel won the toss and elected to field first, but Janakpur recovered from early setbacks to put a competitive total on the board, largely thanks to a composed half-century from Trit Raj Das.
Trit Raj Das Anchors Janakpur's Innings
Das was the standout batter for Janakpur, scoring 61 runs off 55 deliveries before being dismissed by Mahedi Hasan, who had him caught by captain Kushal Bhurtel.
Shakib Al Hasan struck twice in the early stages, leaving Janakpur at 47/1 and then 51/2. The Bolts continued to lose wickets, slipping to 79/3 before Harmeet Singh departed. Anil Sah was also dismissed as Janakpur reached 97, while Das's wicket at 117 left the side at 117/5.
Das's innings accounted for approximately 41 per cent of Janakpur's total, highlighting his importance in building the innings.
Neesham and Tiwari Provide Late Contributions
With Janakpur looking to accelerate in the final overs, James Neesham and Abhisekh Tiwari helped push the total beyond 140.
Tiwari added valuable runs towards the end, striking a six and a four off Mahedi Hasan to give the Bolts a late boost. Janakpur eventually finished on 147/7 after 20 overs.
Pokhara Avengers Need 148 for First Win
Pokhara Avengers now require 148 runs from 20 overs at a required run rate of 7.40 per over to register their first victory of NPL 2026.
Pokhara lost their opening match to Sudurpaschim Royals by six wickets. A victory would give them their first two points of the season, while a win for Janakpur would take the Bolts to four points from three matches.
